TITLE: I can’t
Recommended aged group: Level 1 (1st or 2nd course – from 5 to 7 years old)
Characters: Mary and several mates in her classroom . (We can introduce all that we need)
Synopsis: The story take place in the school. Each scene in a different place (gym, classroom, canteen…). We want all the students try different activities (even when they don’t be so good doing its or because of shy or fear) instead to wish it and they never know if they should be able. And, how sometimes we are so good as anybody.
Character objectives: Mary is a girl who loves a lot their friends and She wants everybody become where they want. She can’t support when people is unhappy.
Their friends love her very much and all of them don’t believe in their own possibilities… but they need a little push to start each activity to do.
Key vocabulary: Use of “can”, different places in the school and action verbs.

Scene 1
Students are in the gym. Mary’s mate, Raquel, doesn’t feel confidence in herself and she thinks that she can’t play football.
Mary helps her to improve because they practice everyday.
Scene 2
Students are in the classroom -Art subject-. Mary’s mate, Raúl, doesn’t feel confidence in himself and he thinks that he can’t draw.
Mary helps him to improve because she explains some things and they practice together.
Scene 3
Students are in the playground –they are hopping-. Mary’s mate, Susan, doesn’t feel confidence and she thinks that she can’t hop.
Mary helps her to improve and she feels better.
Scene 4
Students are in the canteen –they are talking about next game: to skip-. Mary’s mate, María, doesn’t feel confidence and she thinks that she can’t skip.
Mary helps her to improve and they practice everyday.
Scene 5
Students are in the music classroom. Now is Mary who feels sad and she thinks that she can’t play the guitar well.
Their friends have learnt a lesson “if you practice you improve” and they try to help her. Mary learn a song and she is happy because she has got very good friends. All of them have learnt if we want something they must try before say “I can’t”.
